Lluvia is a seasoned qualitative researcher with a refined gift for connecting with consumers across cultures. She has more than a decade of experience moderating domestic and international research and a passion for narrative storytelling that helps companies better understand human behavior. Her empathetic nature and genuine curiosity contribute to her versatility and organic ability to unearth rich insights that move business forward.

Smarty Pants was thrilled to add Lluvia to our talent roster in early 2023. Her industry experience spans technology, entertainment, retail, healthcare, consumer packaged goods and more. Coupled with her multicultural expertise, Lluvia’s history of cross-category research leadership adds significant value to Smarty Pants and its clients.

As an Insights Genius, Lluvia designs and leads qualitative research initiatives that drive product development and brand strategy. She flexes her skills as an expert, bilingual moderator to bring cultural understanding to client partners like Meta, CVS and Barilla.  

Prior to her move to Smarty Pants, Lluvia was a research director at Hypothesis Group, where she leveraged her passion for bringing consumer stories to life through qualitative and multi-method studies for clients like Disney, Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Starbucks and Toyota. Previously, Lluvia spent time as a qualitative research director at Minneapolis-based Ravel and Culturati Research & Consulting in San Diego. Her research career began at Kantar, honing her research skills as she moved from analyst to senior consultant managing custom research projects for Fortune 500 companies.

Lluvia holds an international business and marketing degree from San Diego State University. She also studied international business at the Universidad de Valparaíso (in Chile). Lluvia later earned certificates in market research and advanced moderating – from the University of Georgia and RIVA Training Institute, respectively.

San Diego is home to Lluvia, her partner and their two pups, Oliver and Mochi. You can typically find them enjoying the outdoors, hosting barbeques for friends/family or planning their next road trip adventure.
