Jordan joined the Smarty Pants team in late 2020. As an Insights Whiz, she serves a key support role on qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method research. From helping to scope new initiatives, to ensuring great fieldwork, to analyzing data and creating final deliverables, Jordan is a critical cog in the company’s primary research machine.

Jordan brought with her to Smarty Pants an inquisitive spirit, impressive academic pedigree and a fascinating professional background.  As a lover of mystery novels from a young age, she has always been interested in finding clues to solve problems. From her first college course in communication research, she knew digging in to find the answers to challenging research problems was her calling.

Her curious nature led Jordan on an academic journey to learn the best methods to solve those problems… and to understand the theories behind the methods. After completing her undergraduate degree in communications from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise, she earned a Master of Arts in professional communication from East Tennessee State University. In 2020, she completed with her Ph.D. in communication from Regent University. In true Smarty Pants fashion, she received academic scholarships for her hard work and dedication at all three institutions.

As a scholar, Jordan conducted quantitative and qualitative research on topics ranging from celebrity influence on product worth, to the role gender and race play in fandom, to the latent political messages in memes. She has had the honor of presenting her research at the Southern States Communication Association and the National Communication Association.

Never content to sit still, Jordan has worked in banking, academia and retail. And she has remotely taught English to students in China. These experiences have given her a strong understanding of the B2B and B2C worlds and the needs of individuals at various lifestages.

Raised in the beautiful mountains of Southwest Virginia, Jordan now resides five minutes from Smarty Pants headquarters in Jonesborough, TN. In her spare time, you can find her reading a mystery novel, snuggling with her cats or playing Call of Duty with her husband.
