As a highly-relatable moderator and ethnographer with great intuition, Barb has the natural ability to connect no matter what the topic. From talking to tweens about charitable giving to riding roller coasters with kids at their favorite amusement parks to spending time exploring how different showerheads can transform a bathroom to a spa like oasis, Barbara makes it her business to get in the field and study consumers where the answers lie.
Barbara has led countless youth-focused qualitative research projects over the past fifteen years and has considerable insights into kids and tweens and their needs. From in-home ethnographies, to new product play parties, Barbara has implemented creative and unique research tools that help kids feel at ease and eager to share their thoughts for clients like Unilever, Girl Scouts, Cartoon Network, Dick’s Sporting Goods and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. As a result, she has great insight into the lives, lifestyles and preferences of contemporary youth and family.
Barbara is a Riva-certified moderator with intensive training in the theory and practice of special tools and techniques of qualitative research. She has logged more than four thousand hours of in-person research. Her certification in Advanced Moderator Techniques has given her the tools needed to connect with respondents of all ages about everything from fashion dolls and video games to fast food and frozen vegetables. There is no one more willing than Barb to do whatever it takes to get rich insights. Research participants love her, and so do Smarty Pants clients.
