Maty joined the Smarty Pants team as an enthusiastic Insights Whiz in early 2021. She was promoted to a Brainiac position in May of 2022. A self-proclaimed “data geek,” Maty plays a key role in supporting quantitative research initiatives for the company’s toy & game, food & beverage and retail clients. From study scoping to survey development to data analysis, Maty ensures that research is well-designed, flawlessly fielded and strategically impactful.

In true Smarty Pants fashion, Maty is methodologically ambidextrous and often supports qualitative and hybrid projects as well. She is passionate about understanding the person behind the numbers and crafting meaningful stories from data.

Before making the leap to Smarty Pants, Maty worked as a market research supervisor at CorCom, Inc., a Pittsburgh-based research and consulting firm that specializes in data-driven solutions. She designed and conducted primary research projects on topics ranging from healthcare to banking to the arts.

Maty began her career as a business and marketing analyst at Leadership League, a marketing and talent development firm that specializes in equipping leaders in sports and business. One of her fondest professional experiences in this role was to serve as a cruise coordinator for the Legends of Pittsburgh cruise with fan and players from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Maty graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management with minors in Mathematics and Analytics from Grove City College. It was during her undergraduate studies that Maty’s love for market research was sparked. When she wasn’t busy running, that is.  Yes, she was the captain of both the varsity cross country and track & field teams!

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Maty lives with her husband and Golden Retriever in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. Outside of work, she can be found running, volunteering at her church’s high school ministry or cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins.
